Can one replace/repair a 4-pin USB port on an HP printer?

I have an HP printer 2210ix, PSC, all works except the 4 pin USB port is missing one pin, so it can't be connected to the computer. Is it possible to replace this unit on the printer with a new one, is there a place to buy the part? Has anyone done it, is it simple or needing soldering, etc?Can one replace/repair a 4-pin USB port on an HP printer?
usb ports are always soldered onto boards.

it might be possible, but probably difficult. Can one replace/repair a 4-pin USB port on an HP printer?
You will have to buy the part from HP from the web site and you will have to solder it onto the board it resides on. What Cajun said is correct.

Honestly you'd be better off buying a Lexmark printer at Walmart for $20.00 and some ink for $8.00 and be done with it. It will save you tons of time and headache.
ink for $8? try $40. if it was $8. i would stocked up. lol
