I'm trying to access the C5180 thru an apple airport with no success. I previously owned a hp 6110 that DID work with the airport. I am all MAC OS 10.4.7. I'm wondering if there are any fixes available.I recently purchased a hp photosmart c5180 printer. It doesn't seem to support network printing?
Hi David...the c5180 printer may not be supported for the Airport Base Station like the Hp 6110. Perhaps they can direct you to where to download an update patch if it's available.

Why is my HP color printer printing everything in purple (no color)?

HP LaserJet Printer hangs while printing?
I have a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 6MP. It worked fine for a long time, but now it's having trouble printing. The online light is green, and there are no error lights lit. It prints the test pages just fine.

I had the same problem, I have a HP PSC 700 Series. Turns out my problem was related to not having Internet Explorer or the updated version of Internet Explorer 7. I went the the HP website and found this and was able to solve my problem (of course after going to microsoft.com and downloading Internet Explorer 7).

I'd try to get the full driver. But in a pinch, I know the Deskjet 690 driver works with my PSC 2110...it might work with your 2210. That's only a printer driver though...no scanner.

After installing the software for the HP PSC 1315 all-in-one printer on two computers (winXP) both behave oddly. Exactly every 15 minutes from the time I boot up the computer, a nameless taskbar icon pops up and goes away faster than I can click on it. What is it and how do I get rid of it? You can remove it from startup by going to the start menu, selecting run, and typing msconfig. Click on the startup tab and remove the check boxes from everything that says HP in it. Your printer may not be set as the default printer. Go to Control Panel and under Printers and Hardware go to printers. Right click the printer if its there (if not there its not installed) make it the default printer and you should be set. Also when printing in a office document, check the printer name at the top. It should be HP c3100
If thats not the issue, make sure the cable with the printer and the computer are attached. Most of the time USB cables are plug and play with printers and it should work without installation. Check if the cartrige and the paper is in the right place to not cause paper jam. And turn it off and on.

I bought this printer about 6 months ago and it has been excellent until now. I switch it on and print something - no problem. Just a guess but I would say that the printer is not recognising the cartridge.
Take the cartridge/s out and give the contac face a wipe then try again.
If that doesn't work then refer to your warranty as it might be a faulty printer.

I had that same problem, all I did to fix it was uninstalling the printer driver/Scanning software. Hard Reset it (unplug the power cord from the oulet, and Press and Hold Power button for about 10-to-15sec. install the software, and plug it back.
Everything was fine, It work for me, Same exact printer. so it should work for you.

I certainly can understand you're question here - there's a lot of us who are getting tired of HP's small cartridges, like the HP-22 Tri-Color @ 05 ml of ink.

I can not say, positivetly, that the 22 %26amp; 57 will interchange, but based on information I received ~ 1 month ago; from gto_ca @ Yahoo-Answers / Yahoo-Groups, THE 22 %26amp; 57 SHOULD INTERCHANGE.
I am not familiar with the HP Deskjet D1460, but included in gto-ca's information, he states, '; . . . The HP Photosmart 7450 can operate with HP 21, 22, 27, 28, 56, 57, %26amp; 58.
It would seem likely to me the above interchanges would work both ways.
Oh yea, by the way, gto-ca owns %26amp; operates a franchise inkjet refilling business; he uses 18 different printers to
';Test-Print'; refilled cartridges; he says that between these 18 printers, he can Test-Print any / all inkjet cartridges, made by any / all manufactueres.

Sounds like you printer driver is not installed right. But you can go and try just setting it to print view and that should be all that you need to do. Go to start then print and your print screen will come up select how many copies you want and then select print. You should be fine. When you run a Windows update and install the Windows Genuine Advantage it will kill your printer driver.
Go into the printer properties -%26gt; Advanced tab and switch your ';print processor'; to Winprint. This is a work around and not a repair.

Your notebook isn't that old - from around '04 or '05 - i'm not real tech - so what i'd do is start the pc w/ the XP starter dvd inside - i'd reinstall the operating system - in this manner - u won' t lose any of your files - actually - u may be able to go back to a ';restore point'; - if u can get back to a restore point - i'd try that first - good luck

I keep trying to print but everytime it tries to print, the paper is being accepted in a skewed fashion, thus unabling it to properly load the paper in for printing.

I own several HP Laserjets and setting up your HP laserjet without the HP CD should not be a problem. First I would try disconnecting printer cable and letting your Computer hopefully recognize that a plug n play device %26lt;= Your HP Laserjet has been connected and then see if you still get same error message. Second if that didn't work, I would visit www.HP.com website bec most of printer drivers and updates are available for download and it should be there. Then I would DELETE existing printer in Control Panel and probably REBOOT and then connect your HP laserjet and then follow the instructions where often times at least in Windows XP, all one has to do is designate the manufacturer and model. At worse case, you create a DOWNOAD FOLDER and when you go back to HP website and select the driver, you tell it to save to the DOWNLOAD...

U have to visit hp.com site at net and search for this particular printer diver, download it and then install it on to your system.
Go to your Cotrol Panel, select Install Hardware, and select printer, and match the name of the printer from the list (or the closest one) and follow the step by step wizard.

Go to your Cotrol Panel, select Install Hardware, and select printer, and match the name of the printer from the list (or the closest one) and follow the step by step wizard.

I used to own a computer shop however I am not familair with your model but they are very similar in design.
A paper jam can be caused by the smallest piece of paper.
Most of the HP's both laser and injet can be opened easily with a clicik of a button or turn of a knob,
A lot of injets have a knob in the rear besides just the lid you open to replace the cartridge that will alow you to open the rear paper path. An entire paper can fold or crunch up in a small area and hide on you.
Is this printer old and or in front of an a/c ( does it get durty often?
If so there are led's similar to that on the front of your remote control or your tv.
They and microswitched can be strategically placed where paper is likely to jam.
If its a dusty problem ( and lasers can create a LOT of dust, the eye can get enough dust on it where it ';thinks'; there is paper in the path and give a paper jam. In these cases blowing the sensors out or using a qtip on the little round pickups can solve the problem.
If you get a paper jam fairly soon before the one that shows up now and you PULLED the paper out and the paper tore and you had to pull it out in pieces it is possible that a) a piece is still in the printer paper travel path or b) you might have caught a part of the paper on a microswitch that might have bent the microswitch enough that it is ****** and giving a false reading.
Micro switched are failrly easy to realize, yahoo them if you want to know what they look like most are similar in design and most have a shinny peice of metal that bends a bit. It is almost always a pefrect bend or straight. If the microswitch looks warpped (again you would have had to pull on the paper failry hard) then you might have to straigten it. This might require help of someone with the proper tools.
Another thing i have sen over the years is that the pick up roller (The very first roller or rubber part that first touches the loaded papaer) can get slippery from paper dust.
It will grab the paper just enough to move it say 1/4 inch just enough to place it between the paper jam eye.
You can and should evry so many 1,000 sheets of paper clean the rollers with alcahol and a strong paper towel or qtips.
After you have verified that no paper appears within the path you might try loading the tray with 1 then 5 then 50 then 100 sheets of paper.
If the jam goes away it is likely the first roller pickup that I said you should clean ever so often..
Be VERY careful when your hands or tools are under the lid area where the print headmoves back and forth. There is a small plastic band that is spring loaded that tells the printer where the printer head is located at all times.

They only bight side is that printers are getting cheaper and cheaper. I've seen some printers sell for less than their refills. I still find that hard to comprehend.

Take this out and clean every paper roller in there that you can get at. after that put the door back in and open up the front like how you would to replace the ink. do this with the power off. clean the paper rollers in the front. if this still keeps giving you the error then that means that the printer is pretty much done for. i had a 6310 that started giving me this problem and soon after it just locked up on me and it was garbage. this might be the same thing for this one.

This morning, I turned on the computer and tried to do some homework...then I noticed that my 10 year old sister printed TWENTY-SEVEN PAGES of dfjsadlkfjasldkfjs;dlfkjdsflkjsdkjfk;fjs鈥? After awhile, I noticed my printer would print the ';Alignment Page'; [Every time I turned it on] after I had replaced one or both of my Inkjet Cartridges. If I did not ';Align'; the cartridges when I installed them, the ';HP Solution Center'; screen would come up every time I turned the CPU on, %26amp; then the printer would print ';Alignment Page'; [Sure wastes a lot of paper %26amp; ink, doesn't it].
I just started ';Aligning the cartridges'; every time I replaced one [New OEM or refill made no difference]. This cured my problem here.
You're probably already familiar with the following, but it doesn't cost any more to put it in here - To ';Align'; cartridges, goto:

I also just started ';Saving the Print-Out / Alignment Page'; - just use it for all alignment now - am saving a little bit of ink %26amp; paper by doing this.

It depends on what your needs. Basically HP divide their products to home use and office use for their printers. Difference are speed, individual ink tanks support, and so on. If you need print from special paper (like photo paper, canvas paper, backlight paper) of course you must buy an inkjet coz laser can't print on this media ;-). Surprisingly I don't really know the diffrence between deskjet, and officejet. But I have an officejet 4215, and it is awesome. I really like it. It prints out really fast, and has a bunch of cool features.

I have had both laser and inkjet and I have found laser have a better print and in the long run are cheaper to run. I have found the cost to be from 5 to 35 cents per copy with inkjet and as little a .5 to 7 cents per copy for laser.
I like the HP 2600 color laser. I can get 4500 avg pages before my printer runs out of B\W toner. I have had one for almost a year at the house for the kids and have 11,500 pages and have had great luk with it.
My inkjet use to use a $50 cart every 300 pages. This uses a $100 cart every 4500 pages. You do the math. 7 yo 8 times less expensive.

It depends on what your needs. Basically HP divide their products to home use and office use for their printers. Difference are speed, individual ink tanks support, and so on. If you need print from special paper (like photo paper, canvas paper, backlight paper) of course you must buy an inkjet coz laser can't print on this media ;-). So determine your need first before buy. For complete reference of variuos models, better go to www.hp.com
Surprisingly I don't really know the diffrence between deskjet, and officejet. But I have an officejet 4215, and it is awesome. I really like it. It prints out really fast, and has a bunch of cool features.
it works fine but i would get a laser
I have had both laser and inkjet and I have found laser have a better print and in the long run are cheaper to run. I have found the cost to be from 5 to 35 cents per copy with inkjet and as little a .5 to 7 cents per copy for laser.
I like the HP 2600 color laser. I can get 4500 avg pages before my printer runs out of B\W toner. I have had one for almost a year at the house for the kids and have 11,500 pages and have had great luk with it.
My inkjet use to use a $50 cart every 300 pages. This uses a $100 cart every 4500 pages. You do the math. 7 yo 8 times less expensive.

How do I change or replace the ink in my HP Photosmart D5069? I don''t even see a ink cartridge. I know where to look but I don't see any place for a catridge and the one that I bought that is compatible for this model isn't fitting. I never took one out but I still can't find anything helpful. Here's how to install replacement print cartridges.

there are rubber (round) feeders that roll against the paper to grab it. Open and take a rough file to these feeders. It should rough up enough to grab the slick paper. We do this to laser printers as well.
Be sure to be consistent in the roughness and not to gouge it too deeply (try fingernail file to start)

I installed an HP wireless printer...hpsetup etc?
I installed my HP wireless printer to work with my wireless internet. The problem I'm having is if I want to print, I have to disconnect from my network, and connect to a network called hpsetup, then disconnect from that and go back to my network to resume the internet.
My question, is there anyway I can be on both of these at once? or combine them? Although the printer works, its a hassle to disconnect from one network and onto another just to print. Thanks in advance.I installed an HP wireless printer...hpsetup etc?
Check the manual, there should be a way to configure the printer from ad-hoc mode into client mode - then it would act like another device on your existing network and you wouldn't have to keep switching networks.

just get a normal usb cable, its way easier, or get a bluetooth printer

I have a HPC6380, confused on ink replacements. 4small 1 large black. Bought black small by mistake instead of large. Put in the small anyway and now all the small our out and still the large is out. what may have happened is the option to print the last page to first page may have been enabled. all you have to do is when you hit print, hit the properties button while the printer is selected. check to see if the last page to first page feature is enabled. this may also be called coallate.Why does my HP F340 printer print the last page first?
not a glitch, just go into windows control panel, then select printers, then select the properties section for your printer, now look for a tick box next to print pages in reverse order (or words to that effect) if there is a tick box and it has a tick in it the click the box now save the settings. and print a document with more than one page.

Why can't I print nothing at all with my HP Deskjet F380 Printer?
Everything is connected and in the Control Panel it says it is ready. It is not offline and fully functional.
But here I am, unable to print. I've installed the printer more than 3 times but with no results. What can be done here?

HP printers are very, very finicky to install. Often people plug in the printer cord too early and this corrupts the install.
First disconnect your printer from your PC. Then un-install all it's software in your add remove program. Then re-install your software ((be sure to plug your printer cord in (ONLY) when you are instructed to do so)). Then, let the software continue till it completely finishes. Make sure the driver is on for your printer and if its on and not working try updating the driver. or take the driver off Reinstall printer driver.
Also make sure your firewall isn't blocking the printer, check all wires.
Is it set as the defualt printer, and if not are you printing to the right printer. Are the print jobs showing up in the print que? And if so are the showing errors?

Over 6yrs old for both. I had a 900 series HP deskjet and I purchased it in 2000. Then it was brand new just released. I would not purchase those used the ink would be a little higher than ink for a newer one..Thanks

It should be plug and play, but you might need the drivers. Go to the HP website and find the appropriate driver/software and then install. Once installed you should have all of the functions for your printer.

Is it a smudge that is solid color. Or is it kind of faded? If it is faded the solution is simple; buy a new ink cartridge. If it is strong color (not faded just smudged) something is smearing it so have someone look at your printer or have it cleaned. If you haven't already just open it up real quick and look along the route the paper follows. Maybe you will be able to see the problem.www.myspaces.com

Try removing your toner cartridge and giving it a good shake to see if that helps. If not then a replacement is required.

You have to change the page setup options in your web browser to remove the header and footer. For both Internet Explorer and Firefox, open the File menu and click on Page Setup. Clear the Header and Footer boxes in IE, or go to the Header and Footer tab in Firefox and set all options to blank.HOW HOW HOW I CAN REMOVE SITE ADRESS IN PRINTING WEB PAGES BY HP PRINTER?
What program is this document in? If it's a windows product, you should be able to go to ';File'; and then down to ';Page Set Up';. No, I dont think the quality difference will be visible to the naked eye. It should have similar photo quality since the 7960 is also a photo printer.
Since it is a newer model, there may be slight tweaks to the photo capability but overall the 7960 is a more versatile printer as it can print stuff besides 4x6 photos.

Does anyone know how to get ink cartridges out of a broken HP printer?
I have an HP 940C which quit working. The center light is on, indicating a paper jam, but there's nothing jammed anywhere. The cartridges inside are almost new and I'd like to be able to re-use them in a different printer, but they won't slide to the center where I can remove them. I tried popping off the LED panel, but I still can't remove the cartridges from there. Can anyone help me?Does anyone know how to get ink cartridges out of a broken HP printer?

you may have to get a tech to open it up. i am not completly sure about the hp printers, but you should be able to open it up (maybe there are little screw's somewhere), open it up to where your cartridges are and you would be able to pull them out. i have had to do this to one of my printers, just keep opening compartments up till you get to where the cartridges are and you can get them out.
