HP 6380 printer ink cartridge question?

I have a HPC6380, confused on ink replacements. 4small 1 large black. Bought black small by mistake instead of large. Put in the small anyway and now all the small our out and still the large is out. NOW how do I buy them, seperately or what since I just purchased a small black. What is the big black for and how do I know if it is big or small when buying, confusing to me. thanks for your helpHP 6380 printer ink cartridge question?
THe big black cartridge is useful when you print only text. You get more prints out of it. The small cartridge is used when printing in color and that is the most used when mixing for contrast.

What you you need to but is the cyan, magenta, yellow only. Even if the small black runs out, you would still have the large black as backup. That's the advantage.HP 6380 printer ink cartridge question?
On some inkjet printers you can choose between a large black cartridge or a small black, and even some have both a large black and small black cartridge in addition to the other primary color inkjet cartridges.

You typically print more black text than any other color (as most pages are black and white text pages) which is the reason why the black cartridges are typically larger than the other colors.

You can purchase a large black inkjet toner cartridge refill here.

You have to fix the small cartridges into small Groove and Black into big groove, now If you want to know which is to be replaced then the windows gives the level of ink in cartridges, according to that level you have to replace the cartridges.
On the software you should be able to check ink levels, then you can tell which ones to replace. That is the only way you will know which ones to replace.
