Sorry, don't believe you have that option. Time for a new cartridge or a refill kit.How do I disable the black cartige from an HP Printer?
You CAN'T

The reason being that ink is not only a printing medium but a lubricant and coolant for the print heads in inkjet printers, so allowing you to disable the black would mean the black head overheating and killing itself. THEN ytou'd moan about the printer ruining itself.

Just buy some ink and live with it. Or look at a continous inking system, I've got one from www.continuousink.com on my epson, filled the ink tanks after 1 yr
you can't. This model does not allow only 1 cartridge to be used. some of the new deskjets have what they call an ink-backup which means that 1 cartridge can be taken out and the other cartridge can be used for all colors. This model you can not do this. you need to buy a black or refill yours.
YOU CAN'T that's how bad those printers are, just suck it up and buy a different cartridge..
