HP Deskjet F2180 all-in-one printer won't work. ?

I have this printer, and whenever I try to either scan or print, it says Scanner/Printer not found. The printer is on and the cable is connected. And I even uninstalled and installed the software again.HP Deskjet F2180 all-in-one printer won't work. ?
The simplest answer could be that this printer isn't set as your default printer. Make sure it is. Like I said, it's the simplest, but certainly may not be the answer.

Has the printer always worked and suddenly stopped? Or did you just plug this one in and tried to run it?

Is your operating system Vista or XP?

I would install the latest driver from HP to make sure you have the updated driver.

Just select your OS then download the driver. Execute the .exe file (taking note of where the computer is installing the driver). Then do a manual load of the printer (go to printers and ';add a printer';). Make sure you select the ';have disk'; option, and point location to your C:\ and then whatever folder you installed the driver to.
