HP D2400 printer cant print?

My HP D2400 printer cant print, it shows printing and the gives the message offline even when its properly connected via USB and have tried re-installation but no solution.HP D2400 printer cant print?
Have you tried printing a test page? Have you gone to your control Panel%26gt;Printers and Faxes%26gt;right-click your printer, in the drop down box you should see ';Use printer offline';.





I am not exactly sure what is going on with your printer because you say it shows printing. Does that mean that the paper is moving through the paper path and just not printing anything? If this is the case perform a head alignment. If that does not work, clean the printhead 3-4 times and then run a test page. It may take several cleanings to completely clean the printhead.

Use the installation disc that came with the printer to install the software necessary for your computer to recognize the printer. If you do not have that disc - get on line and get it from the HP web site - download it and install.

You may have to go into defaults and change the settings on the printer.
try your printer setup, maybe it is default setting at 3 pages, that why ii is printing 3 automatically set it in 1 copy as default.

hp is very good with support I would email them and tell them the problems you are having downloading the drivers and maybe they can fix the FTP so you can download them.

If it's the right printer (looked up a picture and I think it is), my fiance and I had that. It came free with our computer and when we got it, we were so excited to have what we thought would be a great printer, however, we were able to use it for about a month and it wouldn't work any more after that. First, start storing your CD's in better places to keep track of them.


Second most all drivers for products are found online. If all else fails type in the name of your item and see what comes up.
Once you hook it up windows should detect it and ask for software, tell it to check for the drivers on the internet.

My HP psc 1350 did the same thing, and it was really frustrating! All I had to do was instead of using the scan button on the stupid contraption was go in through the My Computer section and choose scanner. A wizard will pop up and you'll have to save the document to your pictures, but at least you'll be able to print! It's not as super easy as the scan button but I hope it works!

When you installed Windows Vista did you use the updated ';full driver'; from HP (where you ran the HP setup) not the Add New Hardware wizard.





The add printer wizard or Add new hardware wizard does not install all the ';bells and whistles'; that come with a printer. Some people do this because this ';monitoring software'; running in the background slows down their PC and they don't want that.





To get these back you would need to download and install this driver .
